The Filtered Mouthpiece is an accessory for the AeroEclipse Durable BAN small-volume nebulizer that reduces the amount of medical aerosol exhaled into the surrounding air. It is intended for one patient aged five years or older in hospital, clinic or home settings.
During inhalation, aerosol flows from the nebulizer through the mouthpiece to the patient. A check valve prevents air entering backwards through the filter outlet. During exhalation, the valve opens and directs the patient’s exhaled flow through a filter that captures aerosol particles.
Filter Construction
The filter has a plastic housing, connectors and a mechanical pad made from synthetic fibres and foam. The mouthpiece is reusable for the same patient and is supplied non-sterile.
