HeroTracker Sense version 1.2 attaches to a compatible metered-dose inhaler to record prescribed inhaler use and technique. It is intended for repeated use by one patient at home, aged twelve years or older. The records can help healthcare professionals assess medication use and inhaler technique in clinical practice or trials.
The accessory fits on top of the medication canister. Force, acceleration and airflow sensors record actuation, shaking, orientation, inhalation coordination, and inspiratory strength and duration. It records the date and time of use and transfers information wirelessly by Bluetooth to a mobile application for display and reporting.
Compatibility and Limits
The device works only with the inhaler and medication specified on its label. It does not count remaining doses or measure spirometry. A non-rechargeable CR2032 lithium coin cell powers the accessory.
