The AssureTech Amphetamine Panel Dip is a urine screening test for d-amphetamine at a cutoff of 1,000 ng/mL. It provides a qualitative preliminary result for in vitro diagnostic use and can be used over the counter or by prescription.
The dip-card test uses a competitive lateral-flow immunoassay. Urine travels up the membrane by capillary action. Below the cutoff, antibody-coated particles bind at the test region and produce a colored line. Above the cutoff, amphetamine occupies the binding sites and prevents that line from forming.
Control and Confirmation
A separate control line indicates that the test has received sample and the membrane has wicked. A preliminary positive result requires a more specific confirmatory chemical method; gas chromatography with mass spectrometry is the preferred method.
