American Screening’s Discover Plus range includes urine drug-screening tests. The MOR2000 dip card is one example. It uses competitive lateral-flow immunoassays to check a configured panel of analytes at specified cutoff concentrations. The card produces qualitative screening results, with the analyte combination selected for the particular panel.
During the test, urine moves along a strip. With a valid control line present, a visible test line indicates a negative screening result for that analyte; absence of the test line with a control line indicates a presumptive positive. Positive results are preliminary and require a more specific laboratory method for confirmation.
Panel and Readout
The MOR2000 instructions list analytes including amphetamine, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, oxycodone, marijuana and d-propoxyphene. Configurations can combine listed analytes, so the panel name alone does not specify every target in a supplied kit.
Each analyte area has a test line and a control line. The control line indicates that the strip has run; the test-line pattern is read as a qualitative screening result for that analyte.
