KaVo NOMAD Pro 2 is a handheld dental X-ray source for producing images with film or digital receptors placed inside the mouth. It is intended for trained dentists and dental technicians examining adults and children in dental offices or similar settings with appropriate radiation safeguards.
A rechargeable battery in the handset powers the DC X-ray generator. The system includes a tube head, beam limiting cone, internal shielding and an external backscatter shield. The operator aligns the beam and receptor, enables the device with the trigger, then holds the trigger for the exposure.
Exposure Controls
The tube operates at a fixed 60 kV and 2.5 mA. Exposure time is selected to suit the examination, with presets for adult and pediatric patients. An indicator and audible signal confirm that the device is enabled before X-ray delivery.
