KaVo NOMAD Pro 2 is a handheld dental X-ray source for producing images with a receptor placed inside the mouth. It is intended for adult and pediatric patients and must be operated by a trained, qualified dentist or dental technician.
A rechargeable battery powers the X-ray tube. Tube voltage and current are fixed at 60 kV and 2.5 mA; the operator selects exposure time according to the patient, detector, and anatomical area. The handle trigger enables and initiates the exposure.
Image Receptors and Positioning
The system supports film, digital intraoral sensors, and phosphor plates. Proper beam alignment and receptor placement are required. The main unit incorporates internal shielding and an external backscatter shield.
