Star-X produces dental X-ray exposures for diagnostic images of the teeth, jaw and other oral structures. Qualified dentists or dental technicians use it for adults and children with an intraoral image receptor, such as film or a sensor. The X-ray source remains outside the mouth.
The floor-mounted system includes an X-ray generator, a beam-limiting cone, a control panel, an adjustable arm, support hardware and a chair with a backrest. The arm positions the source relative to the patient, while the control panel sets the exposure.
