The DEXIS IXS Size 1 sensor captures digital intraoral dental X-ray images. It is used by trained healthcare professionals and connects to a computer by USB, with the X-ray generator supplied separately.
A scintillator converts incoming X-rays into visible light, which a CMOS detector converts into image data. The sensor detects the exposure and transfers the captured data through its electronics and software driver.
Positioning and Image Processing
The sensor can be positioned with compatible holders or by hand with patient assistance. Its software handles capture and transfer; image enhancements are performed by the separate dental viewing application. Supported connections include USB 2.0 and USB 3.x.
