The DEXIS IXS Size 2 Sensor acquires digital intraoral dental X-ray images. It is used by healthcare professionals trained to perform dental radiography and connects to a computer through USB.
A scintillator converts incoming X-rays into visible light, which a CMOS imaging sensor detects. The sensor automatically detects exposure and transfers the captured image to the computer using its electronics and software driver.
Positioning and Processing
The sensor can be aligned using positioning devices or positioned by hand with patient assistance. Its software captures and transfers images; image enhancement is performed in the separate dental viewing software.
