DD contrast color is a dental veneering ceramic used to individualize zirconia or lithium disilicate crowns and bridges. It is applied to a monolithic or minimally reduced restoration before firing, allowing the dental professional to develop the restoration’s surface appearance.
The material belongs to a group of premixed feldspar ceramic pastes with different consistencies. These support thin shade or glaze layers and structure-building areas on the crown. Compatible liquids adjust the consistency of the paste during application.
Firing Workflow
The ceramic is applied to a sintered zirconium dioxide or lithium disilicate restoration and fired in a standard veneering-ceramic furnace. The restoration substrate and the selected paste determine the intended application within this ceramic system.
