Micron Dentin Conditioner prepares dentin before placement of a glass ionomer cement restoration. It is a mild polyacrylic acid solution that removes the dentinal smear layer and conditions the dentin surface.
This surface preparation is intended to enhance the bond between the glass ionomer cement and dentin. The conditioner has a pretreatment role within the Micron dental materials range.
Material Role
The solution is applied as the dentin preparation step before filling with glass ionomer cement. It is separate from the Micron restorative and luting cements, which provide the filling or cementation material after conditioning.
