Micron Luting is a glass ionomer dental cement used to secure restorations and orthodontic components. Its indications include metal, porcelain fused to metal and resin crowns, bridges, inlays and onlays. It can also cement orthodontic bands and stainless steel crowns.
The material sets through an acid base reaction rather than light curing. Its powder contains fluoroaluminosilicate glass, while the liquid is a low viscosity polyacrylic acid solution. Together they form a self curing luting cement between the restoration and tooth.
Additional Application
Micron Luting can also be used as a base or liner. The material is radiopaque, allowing it to be identified on dental radiographs. These properties concern the luting cement rather than the separate Micron conditioning solution or filling materials.
