The AW-100 is an air-driven dental handpiece used by dental professionals for root canal preparation and cleaning. It transmits vibration to an attached endodontic file to remove dentine debris. A dental unit supplies the compressed air that powers the handpiece and water that cools and cleans the treatment site.
The handpiece includes a rear hose connection and a file holder. Compressed air enters its vibrator and generates mechanical movement that passes along the endodontic file. Model AW-100-4H connects to a Midwest four-hole turbine hose, while AW-100-KA connects to a KaVo MULTIflex quick-disconnect coupling.
Reprocessing
The handpiece and accessories are supplied nonsterile. They require steam autoclave sterilization before first use and after every patient.
