The EVA5 insufflator supplies carbon dioxide through an endoscope to distend the gastrointestinal tract during diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopic procedures. It is used in operating rooms or endoscopy suites for patients undergoing procedures where insufflation is helpful.
A microprocessor controls gas flow using a proportional solenoid valve and feedback from a flow sensor. The unit connects to a compressed carbon dioxide supply and delivers fixed-flow insufflation over a range of 0 to 4 standard liters per minute.

The reusable, nonsterile unit runs from AC power and uses a membrane control panel. An automatic switch-off timer can be set to 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes.
