The Sidecar External Working Channel provides an additional path for introducing, advancing and removing endoscopic devices during endoscopy. It attaches to an upper gastrointestinal diagnostic endoscope with an outer diameter of 8.6 to 12.8 mm. The channel is supplied nonsterile for use with one patient.
The accessory fastens at the distal and proximal ends of the endoscope and enters the patient with it. Endoscopic devices then pass through this external channel. Attaching and removing the channel does not require a tool.
