The Standard Bougie SB38 is used with the Titan SGS stapler during creation of a vertical sleeve gastrectomy pouch. It provides a sizing guide and supports suction, stomach decompression, gastric-fluid drainage, irrigation and insufflation.
The device consists of an 80 cm, 38 French tube with a proximal Luer connector, multiple distal holes and a rounded end. A distal balloon is inflated or deflated through a syringe connected to the Luer fitting, using water or saline.
Sizing and Supply
The tube and inflated balloon serve as the sizing guide. The device is supplied non-sterile and is intended for use by one patient in gastric or bariatric procedures.
