The Sure-Fine 0.5 mL insulin syringe is used to inject U-100 insulin beneath the skin. This configuration has a permanently attached 30-gauge needle approximately 8 mm long and a graduated barrel for measuring the prescribed dose.
The plunger and rubber piston move within the barrel to draw in and expel insulin. The syringe has a stainless steel needle and polypropylene barrel and plunger. Separate caps protect the needle and the plunger end before use.
