The BD Eclipse Hypodermic Needle is used for injection and aspiration of fluids from vials, ampoules or tissues below the skin. It attaches to a compatible luer lock syringe. A hinged safety cover is integrated with the needle hub to cover the point after use.
The user rotates the cover forward to enclose the used needlepoint before disposal. The stainless steel cannula has a silicone lubricant, and the hub is colour coded to identify needle gauge. The listed 23 gauge, 1.5 inch configuration falls within the described range.

Connection and Supply
The needle is supplied sterile for single use. It must be used with a luer lock syringe; a luer slip connection is excluded because activation of the safety cover can disengage that connection.
