BD Ultra Fine pen needle is used with a compatible pen injector to deliver medicines under the skin. The listed configuration is a 31-gauge, six-millimetre needle with a three-bevel tip and thin-wall construction. It is supplied sterile for single use.
The needle has two ends fixed into a threaded hub. When screwed onto the pen, the cartridge-facing end pierces the rubber septum. The other end is used for the injection, with silicone lubrication on both ends to assist penetration.

Protective Covers
An inner shield protects the injection tip before use. An outer cover and peel-away label provide a sterile barrier and tamper evidence; the outer cover is also used to remove the needle from the pen.
