The Medtronic Extended Reservoir MMT-342 holds medication, including insulin, for subcutaneous infusion from compatible Medtronic insulin pumps and infusion sets. It is a sterile, single-use, user-filled container with a nominal capacity of 3 mL and a usable volume of 2.7 mL.
A plunger rod moves the stopper during filling. During delivery, the pump drives the ribbed stopper to move medication through the reservoir and its tubing connector into the infusion set. A transfer guard encloses the filling needle, while a septum seals around the needle.

Recalls
2 of these are Class I. Class I is the FDA’s most serious grade: a reasonable probability of serious injury or death. Class II means a temporary or reversible health consequence. Class III is unlikely to cause harm at all → typically a labelling or documentation fault. Volume alone is not a quality signal: a manufacturer that ships more recalls more.
