This three-ply face mask is worn over the mouth and face to help protect patients and healthcare personnel from transfer of microorganisms, body fluids and particles. It is intended for infection-control practices that reduce potential exposure to blood and body fluids. The mask is disposable and supplied non-sterile.
The flat, pleated mask uses elastic ear loops to hold it in place. Spunbond polypropylene forms the inner and outer facing layers, with a meltblown fiber filter between them. A moldable nose piece helps shape the upper edge around the nose.
