The EMPOWER RF Catheter delivers radiofrequency energy during procedures involving soft tissue obstructions in the upper airways and tracheobronchial tree. It is a sterile, single-use monopolar device inserted through a flexible bronchoscope with a working channel of at least 2.0 mm.
A stainless steel electrode at the distal tip delivers heat for cutting, ablation, coagulation and hemostasis. Its flexible shaft contains an insulated nitinol wire. A proximal banana plug connects through a monopolar cable to a compatible electrosurgical generator, and the generator’s footswitch activates delivery.
