Ruby Star is a Q-switched ruby laser system delivering 694 nm light for soft-tissue cutting, vaporization and ablation, including tattoo removal and treatment of benign pigmented lesions. Energy reaches the tissue through an articulated-arm handpiece.
The system produces pulses from 25 to 30 nanoseconds. An optical chamber contains the laser rod, cavity optics and cooling system, with electronic power and interface circuitry supplying operation.
Operator Controls
A color touchscreen provides the interface, and a foot switch activates laser emission. The physician adjusts pulse energy and treatment spot size for the selected application. Treatment uses a noncontact delivery mode.
