Waterlase Express is a dental laser for procedures involving oral hard and soft tissues. Its uses include cavity preparation and decay removal, root canal procedures, oral bone surgery and periodontal treatment. The hard tissue and oral soft tissue indications include treatment of adult and pediatric patients.
The system combines a 2780 nm Er,Cr:YSGG laser with controlled atomized water. A flexible fiber carries the laser energy from a tabletop console to a handpiece and selected tip. Energy and water act on hard tissue, while direct laser energy can remove or coagulate soft tissue with water used for cooling and hydration.

A removable tablet provides the control panel, and a wireless footswitch activates the laser. A light at the handpiece illuminates the treatment area. Different tips serve different clinical applications, and patient contacting delivery components require sterilization before use.
