The Microwave Ablation Generator supplies microwave energy for coagulation and ablation of soft tissue. It is not intended for cardiac use. Models KY-2000A and KY-2100A deliver energy at a working frequency of 2450 MHz through an ablation cable to an antenna positioned in the target tissue.
The microwave energy heats tissue through movement of polar molecules, producing thermal tissue destruction. The software-controlled generator includes a microwave source, pump and foot pedal. Pumped coolant cools the antenna, while a separate temperature probe monitors temperature at the target location.
Output and Control
KY-2000A provides output power up to 100 W and KY-2100A up to 150 W. Both have continuous, pulse and foot pedal operating modes. Appropriate imaging is used to monitor the coagulated zone during treatment.
