The large RENASYS-G dressing kit is used with compatible Smith & Nephew negative pressure wound therapy pumps and canisters. It provides the wound dressing and connection through which suction removes wound fluid and exudate. Supported wound types include chronic, acute, traumatic and dehisced wounds, ulcers, partial thickness burns, flaps and grafts.
The kit contains antimicrobial gauze filler, a nonadherent wound contact layer and transparent film. Its Soft Port assembly connects the dressing to an exudate collection canister. Saline, skin preparation material and a wound ruler are included for preparing and applying the dressing.

Recalls
18 of these are Class II. Class II means a temporary or reversible health consequence. 3 are recorded with the root cause “No Marketing Application”: the device was distributed without the premarket submission its class requires, a compliance finding rather than a defect. Volume alone is not a quality signal: a manufacturer that ships more recalls more.
