The HemoCue Hb 301 analyzer measures hemoglobin concentration in whole blood using a disposable microcuvette. It is intended for professional in vitro testing in primary care and blood donation settings and displays the measured concentration directly.
The microcuvette draws approximately 10 microliters of blood by capillary action without dilution or other sample preparation. Inside the analyzer, transmitted and scattered light are measured and converted by an algorithm into the hemoglobin concentration.
