Electro-Gel is a conductive gel used between the scalp and external electrodes during clinical or research EEG and evoked-potential recordings. It reduces electrical impedance at the skin-to-electrode interface so the brain’s electrical activity can pass to the recording equipment.
The water-miscible gel uses sodium chloride as its conductor in an aqueous formulation with thickening agents, emulsifiers, humectants and preservatives. Its ingredients include water, potassium bitartrate, Aragum T-1998, sodium chloride, methylparaben, propylparaben and glycerin.
Contact and Storage
Direct contact should not exceed eight hours in a single recording session. This 32-ounce jar format has a one-year shelf life when kept tightly closed at room temperature.
