The AirSurgN Insufflator fills the abdominal cavity with carbon dioxide and maintains pneumoperitoneum during diagnostic or therapeutic laparoscopy. It is intended for hospital procedures in adults aged 22 or older and can also evacuate surgical smoke.
The touchscreen lets the operator select gas pressure and flow. A microprocessor controls pneumatic valves, pressure sensors and a vacuum pump, using feedback to maintain the abdominal gas space. Smoke evacuation can be activated for a fixed period before it stops automatically.
Equipment Position
The insufflator is reusable but is not intended for the sterile field and cannot be sterilised. It functions as the external gas-control equipment during the laparoscopic procedure.
