Zimmer Natural Nail Tibial Nail is a cannulated intramedullary rod for temporary fixation and stabilization of injured tibial bone. Different lengths and diameters accommodate anatomy, with titanium-alloy and stainless-steel versions.
The system supports shaft and metaphyseal fractures, segmental or comminuted fractures, pathological fractures and defects including osteotomies. It can also address nonunion, malunion and delayed healing.
Surgical Approach
Modified instruments permit insertion through a suprapatellar incision above the natural patella. Periprosthetic fractures are within the broader tibial-nail indications but are excluded when using this suprapatellar approach.
