Remedy Spacer humeral stem is a temporary shoulder replacement component used with the matching modular head during staged treatment of an infected shoulder joint. The stem is preformed radiopaque PMMA containing gentamicin with an internal stainless steel reinforcement.
The assembled spacer is for skeletally mature patients undergoing a two-stage procedure when gentamicin is appropriate for the infecting organism. It is used after prosthesis removal and debridement, alongside systemic antibiotic therapy.

Duration and Placement
The stem occupies the humeral medullary canal and the head completes the temporary shoulder construct. Components are sterile and single use. The spacer must be removed within 180 days for definitive replacement or another appropriate treatment.
