ECO Supergel is a water-soluble ultrasound transmission gel applied to the body area being examined. It provides the contact medium used with pulsed-echo ultrasound imaging systems, supporting transmission of sound between the system and body tissue.
The connected ultrasound system sends sound pulses into tissue and receives the returning echoes. The gel facilitates that acoustic interface while the instrument uses echo timing to determine the location or depth of tissue boundaries.
