Sonic Window is a handheld ultrasound system for viewing peripheral blood vessels and assessing their width and depth during needle or catheter placement. It is intended for use by healthcare professionals on prescription, including guidance for peripheral intravenous catheter insertion.
The device combines its transducer, imaging electronics, display and battery in one handheld unit. It shows real-time images in a coronal plane at a constant distance from the transducer. The user adjusts that imaging depth to view vessels at the desired level.
