Velacur ONE is an ultrasound system that estimates liver tissue stiffness, ultrasound attenuation and Velacur Determined Fat Fraction. Trained medical professionals use these measurements alongside other clinical indicators to help manage liver disease, including hepatic steatosis.
An activation unit beneath the supine patient generates shear waves in the liver. An ultrasound transducer placed on the skin between the ribs acquires volumetric liver scans while those waves occur. The system uses the scan data to calculate stiffness and attenuation.
