The Edge Air is a digital flat panel X-ray detector used with a radiographic imaging system to capture images of human anatomy. It replaces film or screen capture for general diagnostic radiography and is not intended for mammography. The detector supports wired or wireless communication with the imaging system.
A scintillator converts incoming X-rays into light, which an amorphous silicon thin film transistor sensor converts into image data. The detector transfers raw image files to a separate console program for processing into DICOM-compatible images used for diagnostic review.
