EXPD 4343S is a digital X-ray detector for general diagnostic radiography of human anatomy. It replaces film or screen-based image capture in compatible radiographic systems. Its intended use excludes mammography.
Two overlapping sensor arrays acquire information during a single exposure. The first array captures incoming X-rays, while the second captures X-rays that pass through the first. Console software processes these signals to produce a standard image, a soft-tissue image and a bone image.
Signal Conversion
The detector converts X-rays into visible light, then an optical sensor converts the light into electric charge. The signals are amplified and digitized so images can be stored electronically or sent for viewing.
