CaRi-Plaque version 1.0 is a web-based application for analysing previously acquired coronary CT angiography images. It characterizes coronary plaque and narrowing of the vessel lumen. Trained operators process DICOM scan data and provide a report to a healthcare professional for review alongside other clinical information.
Three-dimensional image-thresholding algorithms and manual editing tools quantify plaque and vessel features. Reported measurements include plaque burden, total plaque volume, calcified and noncalcified plaque volumes, low-density noncalcified plaque volume, remodeling index and maximum stenosis. The report also includes visual representations of the vessels.
Review Limitations
The analysis supports clinical judgement and does not replace standard assessment. Some views contain interpolated data, which may make tissue appear healthy when disease is near or below scan resolution. A healthcare professional can request re-analysis if they disagree with the report.
