M-CATH Microcatheter supports a guidewire during percutaneous coronary intervention and enables guidewire exchange while maintaining access to distal vessels. It can also deliver radiopaque contrast into the coronary vasculature. It is manually operated by physicians trained in PCI.
The catheter combines a braided shaft, hypotube and single-port hub. A central lumen runs from the proximal Luer port to the distal tip, accepting guidewires up to 0.014 inches. A hydrophilic, hyaluronic-acid-based coating becomes lubricious when moistened to support movement through vessels.
Dimensions and Visibility
The usable length is 135 cm, and the catheter is compatible with 5 Fr guiding catheters. A platinum-iridium marker near the distal tip supports radiographic visualization. The reinforced shaft uses stainless steel, PTFE and Pebax; its distal outside diameter is 2.25 Fr.
