The ERIC Retrieval Device is a mechanical thrombectomy device for removing clots from the brain’s blood vessels in acute ischemic stroke. It is indicated for treatment within eight hours of symptom onset in patients ineligible for intravenous t-PA or whose t-PA therapy has failed.
Retrieval spheres secured along a pusher wire capture the thrombus. The device is introduced through a microcatheter to reach the target vessel, then withdrawn to remove the captured clot and restore blood flow.

Retrieval Arrangement
The interlinked cage design forms the clot engaging portion of the device, while the pusher wire supports delivery and retrieval. The microcatheter provides the navigation pathway and remains a separate part of the endovascular procedure.
