The AZUR Vascular Plug is implanted to reduce or block blood flow in arteries of the peripheral vasculature. It is delivered to the treatment site through a microcatheter and remains in the vessel after detachment. The device is supplied sterile for single use.
The plug has a conformable, self-expanding braided nitinol frame surrounding an occlusive membrane. Radiopaque markers at each end help show its location during placement. The implant is attached to a delivery wire and released using a separately supplied detachment controller.
Delivery and Sizes
The delivery wire is 185 cm long and is designed for a microcatheter with a 0.027-inch internal diameter. The plug is offered in 5, 8 and 10 mm sizes for different target vessel diameters. The delivery microcatheter is supplied separately.

Recalls
8 of these are Class II. Class II means a temporary or reversible health consequence. Volume alone is not a quality signal: a manufacturer that ships more recalls more.

PMA Approvals
A premarket approval is the full Class III route, granted on clinical evidence rather than on equivalence to an existing device. It is the highest regulatory bar a device of this type can clear.
