The BD MiniDraw SST Capillary Blood Collection Tube collects, transports and stores fingerstick blood for specified serum chemistry tests. It is used by trained healthcare workers with the MiniDraw Finger Sleeve in adults aged 18 or older whose finger fits an available sleeve size.
The tube contains a silica-based clot activator and a separation gel. During centrifugation, the gel forms a barrier between serum and blood cells. The tube is designed for cap-down centrifugation and carries a unique barcode linking it to the patient.
Testing Scope
Use is limited to the labeled analytes: alkaline phosphatase, ALT, sodium, chloride, albumin, blood urea nitrogen, calcium, creatinine, total bilirubin, total protein, HDL, LDL, total cholesterol and triglycerides. The tube is single-use and nonsterile.
