This BD Vacutainer tube collects venous blood for plasma glucose testing. The 2 mL configuration measures 13 by 75 mm and contains sodium fluoride with disodium EDTA. Trained healthcare professionals use it to collect, preserve, transport, and centrifuge the sample in a closed tube.
Sodium fluoride inhibits glycolysis, while the EDTA additive prevents clotting. The additives are supplied as a blended powder mixture inside the evacuated plastic tube. A gray Hemogard closure identifies the fluoride formulation.

Configuration and Supply
