BD Vacutainer Trace Element Serum Tubes collect, transport and process venous blood for trace element testing. Trained healthcare professionals use the sterile single use tubes to obtain serum for tests such as arsenic, cadmium, copper, lead, mercury, selenium and zinc.
The evacuated polyethylene terephthalate tube draws blood into a closed container. A silica clot activator is spray dried on the inner wall to support clotting and serum preparation. The serum tube has a 6 mL draw volume and measures 13 by 100 mm.

A royal blue BD Hemogard closure identifies the trace element tube. Its rubber stopper and protective plastic shield form the closure assembly and help limit exposure to blood during handling.
