The Morrison Steerable Needle is used for percutaneous injection, aspiration and tissue sampling in the kidney, liver, muscle and subcutaneous tissue. It is a sterile single use needle with a 21 gauge shaft measuring 17 cm.
Rotating a lever pulls a slide and collar connected to a core wire. Tension in that wire bends the notched distal needle tip toward the lever, allowing the operator to adjust the tip position continuously.

Needle Interface
The steel tube ends in a Menghini style tip and connects proximally through a Luer lock fitting. The patient contacting material is AISI 304 stainless steel. Maximum lever travel produces up to 10 mm of tip displacement, and placement uses conventional imaging guidance excluding MRI.
