The Conventus PR cage is an intramedullary implant for treating fractures of the proximal radius when internal fixation is appropriate. It is used where the fracture fragments can be stabilized with the device. The listed item is the small cage configuration.
The implant expands after deployment into the medullary canal to form an internal scaffold. Fragment screws attach the bone fragments to this scaffold as part of the fixation construct. The implant is made from titanium alloy and nickel-titanium alloy, Nitinol.
Fracture Selection
Use depends on having fragments of sufficient size and number for stabilization. Fractures with fragments that are too numerous or too small for the device fall outside its stated indication.
