The Cannulated Compression Device is an implant used to align and stabilize fractures of small and long bones. Its cannulated body has distal threads that engage bone and openings through which integral anchors deploy to provide additional fixation. It is not intended for spinal use.
A separate compression nut engages the device body and contacts the bone fragment. Tightening the nut draws the fragments into compression. The device body is supplied preassembled with its deployable anchors and distal end cap; the anchors can retract if removal becomes necessary.
