VariTrax Sternal Circumfixator Bands are implantable locking bands used with a matching buttress plate to stabilize the sternum after sternotomy or fracture. The system supports primary or secondary closure and repair, holding the sternum together to promote fusion.
The bands are made from polyetheretherketone, or PEEK, and include a detachable stainless steel needle for placement. The needle guides each band around the sternum through an intercostal space. After placement, the needle is removed and the band is attached to the VariTrax buttress plate.

Locking and Supply
The bands are locked to the matching PEEK plate, tightened and secured to create the fixation construct. The VariTrax implants are provided in a sterile kit and are intended for single use.
