Fortezza Spinal Stabilization System combines titanium alloy screws and rods to immobilize spinal segments as an adjunct to fusion. It is placed through a posterior approach for noncervical fixation.
Straight or prebent 5.5 mm rods connect to multiaxial screws and are secured with set screws. Different component shapes and sizes allow the surgeon to assemble a construct for the individual case.

Construct and Graft
The system is used with autograft or allograft. Adult applications include spinal instability and deformity, while pediatric pedicle-screw use is limited to posterior fixation for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. The screws, rods and locking elements provide the mechanical fixation while the fusion develops.
