Bellalun 2D, model VDMS-1000S, is a digital mammography system for breast cancer screening and diagnosis in adults. It acquires two-dimensional mammograms for the same clinical applications as conventional film and screen mammography.
The gantry contains the X-ray tube, high-voltage generator, collimator and digital detector. A compression paddle positions the breast for imaging. Signals from an exposure are converted to digital data, processed by software and stored at the console workstation.
Image Handling
The system supports the DICOM medical imaging format for integration with a picture archiving and communication system. Exposure can be controlled in automatic, semi-automatic or manual modes.
