The XPE Ultracongruent Tibial Insert forms the bearing surface on the tibial side of a U2 total knee replacement. It is used with a cruciate-retaining femoral component where the posterior cruciate ligament is incomplete, absent, nonfunctional or requires release.
The insert fits into a metal tibial baseplate. Its prominent anterior lip increases the articulating surface area and helps accommodate and stabilize the femur during knee flexion. It is manufactured from irradiated ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene.

Patient and Fixation Requirements
The system is intended for cemented use in skeletally mature patients with specified painful knee disease or deformity. Salvage after failed surgery requires a knee that can be satisfactorily balanced and stabilized.
